Who could have foreseen the world we are not living in? Schools shut, pubs closed, shops empty and old people locked up in the houses.
What an incredible weekend. After months (and months) of planning, and weather watching it was finally time for our lambing weekend.
I'd totally under estimated the amount of behind the scenes jobs that might be required (some serious shed cleaning was required - thanks Emma) to pull off a 2 day lambing weekend but it all came together brilliantly. The alison park hotel were just lovely and looked after us all so well.
After 2 successful administrating medicine meetings in Bakewell we packed up the cakes and certificates and headed up to Yorkshire.
It turns out the weather up north is nasty and we somehow managed to get lost in the fog on our way back. Apart from our navigational issues we had a brilliant night and hopefully you did too.
Cheers for getting involved and being the sort of lovely group any speaker dreams of.
If you remember nothing else...
antibiotics don't treat viruses, keep vaccines cool and read the labels - simple!!!
What were the chances that the halls heating would break on the coldest day of the year so far? Despite the chilly air our first Introduction to Smallholding session went even better than we could have wished for.
We've been writing and planning for this one for months as we wanted to make sure we covered the basics without overwhelming you all.
Thanks for being lovely and hope you've all warmed up.
After all the planning we held our first 2 administrating medicine meetings this week in Bakewell. It felt like this date had been booked in diary for months so it was lovely to finally set the laptop up and get some real work done.
Well done for those of you who travelled miles to join us.
This week we've had our administrating medicine course officially approved (again!) by Red Tractor Farm Assurance.
We officially cover stage one of the farm assurance requirements and will let you know ASAP if our comprehensive course meets stage 2 and 3 requirements.
What a day!!!
We took our big ideas and our little stand to Hope Show. The sun shone all day and we had a blast meeting so many brilliant people.
It looks like we might have a busy few months ahead of us!
Next stop Penistone Show.
As I sit to write my very first blog post I'm excited about the year ahead. Many many months of ideas, planning and organising mean that we're nearly there.
Our little dream of bringing new ideas of old (or new!) farms is under way. Emma and myself cannot wait for everyone to see what we've got coming up.
So watch this space.
